Known for their robust beef flavor and excellent muscle structure, Herefords produce a steak that’s rich, juicy, and made for serious carnivores. This cut comes with the long rib bone intact, adding dramatic presentation and deep flavor during cooking.

🔥 Cowboy Ribeye Recipe (Reverse Sear Method)


Ingredients:


  • 1 H+J Hereford Cowboy Ribeye
  • Kosher salt & freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or beef tallow
  • 2–3 sprigs of rosemary or thyme (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 2 tbsp butter



Instructions:


  1. Prep the Steak:
    Let steak come to room temperature for 30–45 minutes. Generously season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Slow Cook:
    Preheat oven (or grill with indirect heat) to 250°F. Place the ribeye on a rack over a baking sheet and cook until internal temp hits 115°F for medium-rare (approx. 30–40 minutes depending on thickness).
  3. Sear to Finish:
    Heat a cast iron skillet or grill to blazing hot. Add olive oil or tallow, then sear steak 1–2 minutes per side until a deep crust forms.
  4. Butter Baste (optional but next-level):
    Add butter, garlic, and herbs to the pan during the final minute of searing. Tilt the pan and baste the steak with the melted butter for a rich, savory finish.
  5. Rest & Serve:
    Let it rest for 10 minutes, then slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides—or just a knife and a quiet moment of appreciation.

We have three options available:

  1. At checkout you can choose three pickup locations: Two locations in Richland and one at the farm in Saluda. We will set up a time once order is placed.
  2. At checkout choose standard mail delivery. We are still trying to get shipping cost down.
  3. At checkout chose local delivery. We will hand deliver it to you. Again we will contact you about best times. There is no fee when an order is over x amount it's set up on a sliding scale. Farther away you are the more the minimum purchase is for free delivery but no matter the purchase amount we will deliver. Small purchases will have a fee.
