Recipe Ideas:
🥕 Classic Hereford Beef Stew (Serves 4–6)
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs H+J Hereford Stew Beef
- 2 tbsp flour
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 2 ribs celery, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine (optional but recommended)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp thyme
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 cups diced potatoes
Instructions:
- Toss stew beef in flour, salt, and pepper.
- In a Dutch oven or heavy pot, sear beef in oil until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté onions, garlic, carrots, and celery for 5–7 minutes.
- Stir in tomato paste, then deglaze with wine.
- Add beef back to the pot with broth, thyme, bay leaves, and potatoes.
- Cover and simmer on low for 2–2.5 hours until beef is fork-tender.
Serve with warm bread or over mashed potatoes.
🌶️ Hearty Hereford Beef Chili (Serves 6–8)
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs H+J Hereford Stew Beef, cut smaller if desired
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
- 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 can kidney beans, drained
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a large pot. Sear stew beef until browned, then remove.
- Sauté onion, pepper, and garlic until soft.
- Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, and seasonings.
- Return beef to pot and bring to a simmer.
- Cover and cook on low for 2–3 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in beans and cook uncovered for 30 more minutes.
Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, and green onions!

We have three options available:
- At checkout you can choose three pickup locations: Two locations in Richland and one at the farm in Saluda. We will set up a time once order is placed.
- At checkout choose standard mail delivery. We are still trying to get shipping cost down.
- At checkout chose local delivery. We will hand deliver it to you. Again we will contact you about best times. There is no fee when an order is over x amount it's set up on a sliding scale. Farther away you are the more the minimum purchase is for free delivery but no matter the purchase amount we will deliver. Small purchases will have a fee.
