Our Hereford Arm Roast is a true nod to traditional, slow-cooked comfort food. Cut from the front shoulder of our pasture-raised, heritage Hereford cattle, this roast is deeply flavorful with a perfect balance of lean meat and connective tissue—ideal for low-and-slow cooking methods that break it down into fork-tender perfection.

Simple Slow-Cooked Arm Roast Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 H+J Cattle Co. Hereford Arm Roast (2.5–3 lbs)
- 1 tbsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp cracked black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 3 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions:
- Season & sear: Rub roast with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a Dutch oven or large pot. Sear roast on all sides until browned (about 4–5 min per side).
- Add veggies & broth: Remove roast, add onions, garlic, carrots, and celery to the pot. Sauté until fragrant. Stir in tomato paste, then deglaze with a bit of broth. Return roast to pot.
- Slow braise: Add remaining broth, thyme, and bay leaf. Cover tightly and braise in a 300°F oven for 3–4 hours, or until meat is fall-apart tender.
- Serve: Shred with forks and serve with mashed potatoes or on toasted buns.

We have three options available:
- At checkout you can choose three pickup locations: Two locations in Richland and one at the farm in Saluda. We will set up a time once order is placed.
- At checkout choose standard mail delivery. We are still trying to get shipping cost down.
- At checkout chose local delivery. We will hand deliver it to you. Again we will contact you about best times. There is no fee when an order is over x amount it's set up on a sliding scale. Farther away you are the more the minimum purchase is for free delivery but no matter the purchase amount we will deliver. Small purchases will have a fee.
